Dark Heart and Mists of Pandaria Remix were WoW releases from 2024. The Pandaria Remix event has ended. This article looks back at the announcements covered in the original April 2024 report; it is not a calendar of events you can join today.
Dark Heart: the Dragonflight update
Blizzard listed Dark Heart for 7 May 2024 in its US announcement and 8 May in the German announcement. It continued the Dragonflight story toward The War Within and introduced heritage-armor questlines for Draenei and Trolls, plus six hair colors for Kul Tiran Humans.
The quest-access change had a narrower meaning than “every quest is unlocked”: Dragonflight quests previously gated by Renown became available to maximum-level characters regardless of Renown. Other quest or character requirements were not generally removed.
Pandaria Remix: a temporary mode in modern WoW
Remix started globally on 16 May 2024. Players created a new character at level 10 and progressed toward level 70 through an accelerated version of Pandaria. The mode used the modern WoW client, even when the player normally played Classic. It was not Mists of Pandaria Classic.
Customizable loot and the Bronze currency shaped progression. Unwanted items could become Bronze for upgrades or cosmetics. At the end, Timerunners converted into standard modern WoW characters. Blizzard’s closing notice listed play through 19 August and shutdown on 20 August 2024. Levels and gold were retained; the temporary event inventory and currencies did not simply transfer unchanged.
Dragonflight Season 4 and Cataclysm Classic
Dragonflight Season 4 was a separate part of the same news period. Its original schedule featured the Dragonflight dungeon pool and rotating Awakened raids, alongside a new PvP season. Those details describe that season, not today’s dungeon rotation or available rewards.
Cataclysm Classic belonged to the separate Classic version. Its pre-expansion patch was announced for 30 April in the US and 1 May 2024 in Europe. It brought Goblins and Worgen, new race/class combinations and the changed Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms questing landscape. These were not rewards or unlocks from Pandaria Remix.
The service sale and Companion App notice
The service discounts in the original weekly report expired on 7 May 2024. They are not current offers. Blizzard also announced the retirement of the WoW Companion App with The War Within’s pre-expansion update; that was a later milestone than Dark Heart.
