Pokémon Crystal, Gold, and Silver: How to Get the Exp Share

Pokémon Crystal, Gold, and Silver, the classics among Pokémon games for the Game Boy Color, offer many fascinating items that enrich the gameplay experience. One such useful item is the Exp Share, which allows Pokémon that are not actively participating in battle to receive experience points.

This item is particularly helpful for leveling up younger or weaker team members.

How the Exp Share Works in Pokémon Crystal, Gold, and Silver

The Exp Share was first introduced in Pokémon Red and Blue and has since become standard equipment in subsequent generations.

In Pokémon Crystal, Gold, and Silver, the Exp Share can be given to a Pokémon to carry. The carrying Pokémon then receives a portion of the experience points, even if it does not participate actively in the battle. Interestingly, if multiple Pokémon are given an Exp Share, they share the experience points, which significantly facilitates the even leveling of the team.

A detailed guide on how to obtain the Exp Share in Pokémon Crystal has already been described in the complete Pokémon Crystal walkthrough.
